Route 66 Casino Hotel in conjunction with Fresquez Productions announces Albuquerque's own IBA World Champion Holly "The Preacher's Daughter" Holm and #1 Ranked Challenger Ann Marie Saccurato. The two will battle for the IBA Jr. Welterweight World Title on Friday December 3rd in Legends Theater at Route 66 Casino Hotel.
The formidable pair will go face-to-face for the second time in December's fight. Thirty-two year old Ann Marie Saccurato (15-3-2, 6 KO's) will try to avenge a ten-round unanimous decision loss against Holm (28-1-3, 8 KO's) in 2007. The match up will take place just one month prior to the eighth anniversary since Holly's first professional fight on January 25, 2002.
According to www.boxrec.com, Holm holds the title belt in the light welterweight category and pound for pound is ranked #1 in the world. Saccurato holds a #1 ranking in the lightweight division and comes in pound for pound as the #7 best female boxer in the world.
"Every round was closely contested, and the lop-sided score did not reflect the overall action." according to Dee Williams of Women's Boxing Archive Network, of the duo's first fight. While this is the second meeting for Holm and Saccurato, the December 3rd fight will be held for the first time at Route 66 Casino Hotel. The fight will go down inside the 2,800 seat Legends Theater sanctioned by the New Mexico Athletic Commission and all ages will be allowed into the fight.
Also on the card in the co-main event is local favorite Victoria "La Reina del la Guerra" Cisneros (5-10-2, I KO) vs. Florida's Chevelle "Fists of Steel" Hallback (27-6-2, 11 KO's). Hallback has enjoyed a twelve year pro career, 11-career knock outs and plays on a professional womans football team. The undercard will include three bouts on the men's side featuring locals Antonio Martinez, Timmy Means, Robert Trujillo and Joshua Chavez.
